Display Love: Snaffle & Mane

We all have had experiences while shopping where we’ve been motivated to take a closer look at a display. Have you ever thought about why? We take a closer look at some of the booths we’ve been drawn to and why we think they work. Today we take a look at Snaffle & Mane.

1

Be Mobile

Many shoppers at markets like the element of being able to talk to the maker / collector. If you are standing, you are showing those people you are open to chat. Standing also means that you are mobile, and able to get out of the way of those shoppers who would prefer to browse on their own.

2

Show variety

While most of the Snaffle & Mane collection is smaller, this set up includes a beautiful larger piece at the top of the booth that draws the eye. While the average market shopper might not consider purchasing something that size, it shows that this business makes a variety of pieces, which could open the door for future custom work. Bonus points for visually balancing the chalkboard in the other corner.

3

Know where not to call attention

With products that have no problem filling a table, the choice of a black table covering is a wise one, as it fades into the background, allowing the lovely plants and vintage containers to take centre stage. This might seems like a small thing, but think about how different this table would look with, say, a red and white gingham tablecloth.

4

Look to the future

The popularity of chalkboards in the design world right now is great for vendors, as it’s both affordable and adaptable to what you need to display at any given market. We love how the vintage vibe of the frame fits in so well with the rest of the booth.

I like the price list there. I don’t like having to ask for pricing when I shop. I think the comment about the black table cloth is a great idea.
